Tell Congress: Restore Access to Food Assistance for Refugees The government shutdown has ended, and SNAP benefits are being restored across the country. But more than 250,000 refugees, asylees, SIVs, and others who have been granted permission to stay in the U.S. for humanitarian reasons are still completely cut off from food assistance — not because of anything they did wrong, but because they weren't born here and came here to find safety. No one should go hungry in America. Send a message to your members of Congress: restore access to food assistance now. Personal Information Title Mr. Mrs. Ms. Miss Mx. Rabbi Dr. Rev. Yes No Personalize Your Message {contact_data~salutation}, I'm writing to urge you to immediately restore access to food assistance for refugees, asylees, SIVs, and other humanitarian entrants who were excluded under the One Big Beautiful Bill Act. While I'm glad SNAP is being restored after the shutdown, more than 250,000 people with legal humanitarian protection, including 50,000 children, are still being denied food assistance. These are families who fled violence and persecution, who have the legal right to be here, and who are trying to build their lives in our communities. No one deserves to go hungry in America, especially children. Denying basic nutrition to families at their most vulnerable doesn't just cause suffering; it prevents them from achieving the stability and self-sufficiency we want them to achieve. I believe we're better than this. Please take immediate action to restore food assistance for all those with legal humanitarian protection. Thank you for your consideration.
