Ask your member of Congress to support an increase in refugee admissions
The Biden administration announced its intention to increase the refugee admissions cap — known as the Presidential Determination — to 125,000 for 2022. This is an important step in responding to the massive displacement from Afghanistan, as well as the needs of refugees fleeing unsafe countries throughout the world.
The administration should now sign the Presidential Determination, or PD, and rebuild the U.S. refugee resettlement program. The administration is required to consult with Congress before setting a PD and Congress must ensure that the resettlement program is fully funded so that refugees and the communities in which they live have the resources needed to be successful.
